Brief summary listing some pros and cons (unless there are no cons):
The Elgato HD60s was something I picked up after saving for a while. I wanted a name I could trust and after several months of debating I chose this particular model. In the 5 months or so that I have had it, I have had no flaws. The only con that I can see is that every now and again I have to plug and unplug it to fix minor sound issues.
So far this product has been reliable in nearly constant streams, and long sessions of recording. If I could improve one thing, is that it needs compatibility for older consoles without having to purchase special peripherals that may not work on amazon. There is also the fact that the USB micro to USB 3.0 cable it came with was rather short. So I had to invest in a longer HDMI cable. But for those who have less space between TV, Console, and PC will have no issue.
Overall rating (1-10, 1-5, F-A, whatever scale you want to use to rate it): I give the Elgato HD60s a rating of 8.5/10. While it is a reliable piece of tech, the pricepoint for entry is very steep. The cords it comes with are not suitable for distance, and no support for older generation consoles ( ps1, gamecube, etc).
